Deluge System
Deluge System is a water-based fire protection system designed to control or extinguish fire by delivering water, foam or a fine mist directly onto the fire source or the surrounding hazard area. It remains one of the most cost-effective and widely accepted methods of large-area fire control.
While both are water-based, the design, discharge pattern, pressure and coverage area of Deluge System are calculated for its specific hazard class and application, which can differ significantly from a standard light-hazard sprinkler layout.
Yes, in most cases. It requires a site survey to confirm water supply, pressure, pump capacity and pipe routing, after which the system can be designed and retrofitted with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
Design is typically carried out in line with National Building Code (NBC) provisions and relevant TAC or NFPA guidelines depending on the occupancy and insurance requirements of the project.
